Jim Arnold
Jim Arnold spent his entire career in the broadcasting business. As a disc jockey in Tucson, AZ, Jim became a nationally recognized morning air personality as selected by Billboard magazine, known as Sunny Jim Arnold. He later moved into radio station leadership, general management, and ownership.
In 1985, Jim moved from radio into television where he quickly advanced to general management at stations in Lubbock, TX, Madison, WI, Amarillo, TX and back to his adult hometown of Tucson, AZ.
He is a member of the Arizona Broadcaster’s Association Hall of Fame (along with Hugh Downs, Gene Autry, Joe Garagiola and others). Jim is also a member of the Tucson Advertising Hall of Fame and a recipient of the American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal Award, the highest honor. He attended the University of Arizona.
Jim retired in 2016 (perhaps the first or second time) and lives with his wife. They have two children, four grandchildren, and two great grand children.
