The Peaceful Retiree launches the first Digital Retirement Collective™ in the world. The online publication that some might refer to as a community blog, was developed to reach the 55 million retirees in the US with nearly 30 Contributing Editors plus user generated content available to all.

Founded by Editor-in-Chief, Tom Marks, who is also the author of the bestselling and top business book in the US, The Second- Best Business Book Ever Written: The Pursuit of Thought Leadership in Sales, Marketing, and Life, The Peaceful Retiree is the first blog, or Digital Retirement Collective, a term coined by Marks himself, to serve as a platform for a diverse collective of writers sharing their thoughts, wisdom, and insights to retirees, or those contemplating retirement.

The Collective website was launched this week after months of research, recruitment of writers, software development using the latest website tools and resources, and design approaches that utilize the best practices for readership among retirees.

Critical to the success of The Peaceful Retiree, according to Marks, is his initial refusal to monetize the blog which is common in many other online communities. "We are advertising free. We'll stay that way for as long as possible. That means our visitors will be reading in seclusion from ads, pop-ups, and web "takeovers" which have been known to drive a retiree, and plenty of others, to lose their minds. It also means we're sparing our visitors from seeing ads about compression socks, Arizona oceanfront HOA properties, and gut-busting, snake oil formulas that are more worthy of a gut-punch. Our readers read in peace at The Peaceful Retiree."

The writers for The Peaceful Retiree, most whom are not published authors as Marks is, address a wide range of topics including Transitioning into Retirement; Finding Peace; the meaning of the Reformed Retiree; Slowing Down (reading, writing, watching, and listening); Speeding-Up (exercise, travel, and using your brain); and Being Included (socializing and volunteering). Marks also conducts The Monthly Peaceful Retiree Interview with important retirees who have had a meaningful impact on today’s culture, society, and events.

Marks is enthusiastic about the user generated component of the Digital Retirement Collective, and the ability for any reader to become a nationwide published author merely by submitting their work on a simple form. Marks is also exhilarated by the amount of content and the frequency of new content that are already on the website. He believes that there will be as many as 150 new articles each year, and perhaps more depending on the submissions from Guest Contributors.

Marks is no rookie when it comes to communication-focused projects. He founded TMA+Peritus in 1983, a global marketing consultancy, advertising agency, thought leadership, and corporate ethics company with hundreds of clients including McDonalds, Foot Locker, Honeywell, Rakuten, Tenneco, Finish Line Sports, the NCAA, American Family Insurance, California Avocados, the National Mango Board, El Pollo Loco, Mister Car Wash and countless others. Marks also spent many years on the professional speaking circuit delivering his now famous talk titled: Of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle: How Thought Leadership Drives Stronger Sales and Marketing. He has also won more than 65 American Advertising Awards for the TV, radio, and print advertising he has written.
